R.E.P.

Watch this instructional video on REP Instructions for this class

Watch this video showing how to reverse engineer styles and apply what you've learned to a different subject. This is the core of understanding HOW something is made and WHY it works.

For your R.E.P. you'll be choosing a single image and breaking down three design principles in that image, but this video will show you how to take the reverse engineering to the next level. Feel free to do what is shown in the video in addition to what the minimum requirements are for this assignment.

  • submit: activity + Reverse Engineer Post in the submission template by 1st due date

Week 12: Activity + Draft

Week 12 Activity (first due date):

Create and animate a butterfly that flaps it's wings with a x-axis rotation. The design of the butterfly is unimportant, so don't spend much time on the look. These two videos will help.

Finished* Vector Assets (first due date)

As best you can, get all the design done on the assets that you're going to animate. You may make changes and additions as needed, but try to get all the design done by the first due date so that you have enough time to spend on the animation.

Animation Draft (second due date)

Sometimes referred to as an animatic, get things moving as best you can so you can get a feel for the movement and timing of things. Export it and upload it to youtube. Include the link on slack and ilearn.

Week 13: REP & Final Animation

REP an animation. There is no activity this week. (first due date)

Final Animation (Second Due Date)
