After Effects Worksheets Unit
Welcome to the After Effects worksheet unit! This week is a crash course on to help you learn After Effects for the upcoming animation project. Working in After Effects is different than working in Illustrator so you may need to adjust your workflow for the next couple of weeks. Rendering and uploading animation takes a considerable amount of time so don’t wait to the last minute to complete the assignments!

Submission Template
Download the submission template below to submit the the worksheets this week:
First Due Date
First Due Date
Complete the following by the first due date:
- Skeleton Animation
- Worm Animation
Submit the following:
- Submission Template Artboards 1-2
- A Screenshot of the keyframes of your animation. Use CMD + CTRL + SHIFT + 4 to take a screenshot on MacOS (WINDOWS + SHIFT + S to take a screenshot on Windows 10). Paste your screenshot on the artboard and resize it.
- A QR code linking to the exported unlisted youtube video
- A link in the I-Learn comments to your animation videos. The video must be the exported animation, not a screencapture of After Effects.
Skeleton
Assignment: Animate the skeleton so that every joint moves.
Worm
Assignment: Wiggle the worm using the puppet pin tool!
Second Due Date
Second Due Date
Complete the following by the second due date:
- Bouncing Ball Animation
- HUD Animation
- 2.5D Parallax Animation
Submit the following:
- Submission Template remaining Artboards
- Artboards 1-2: These should already be complete, if not complete them and submit them.
- Artboard 3-5:
- A Screenshot of the keyframes of your animation. Use CMD + CTRL + SHIFT + 4 to take a screenshot on MacOS (WINDOWS + SHIFT + S to take a screenshot on Windows 10). Paste your screenshot on the artboard and resize it.
- The screenshot should include any expressions (you’ll have to expand these to see them)
- A QR code linking to the exported unlisted youtube video
- Artboard 6: proof of sticker printing. Submit some visual proof that you’ve sent your stickers to the printer.
- A link in the I-Learn comments to your animation videos. The video must be the exported animation, not a screencapture of After Effects.
Bouncing Ball
Assignment: Recreate the scene of the bouncing ball.
HUD
Assignment: Animate the needle and have the power bar react proportionally using an expression.
2.5D Parallax
Assignment: Take the assets and put them in 3D space, then move the camera around the space to show parallax.
